27 Manhattan College employees are forced to work during the Federal and State Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday

 February 4, 1999

 At noon, over sixty union members and supporters from the students and faculty picketed outside the Manhattan College Campus. The brief and lively protest was the first "pound the pavement" action. Despite the rain, all hearts were warmed by this expression of support for a very good cause.

 February 12, 1999

 A group of union members, students, faculty and supporters picketed outside the Manhattan College campus demanding recognition for the 27 workers.
